Pest Control for Euclid Homes and Businesses

Ants, cockroaches, spiders, mice and rats, wasps, stink bugs and termite inspections. Locally owned and run by Finley Patel since 2010. Same-week appointments are standard.

Euclid's Local Pest Control Company

Bluestone Pest Control has served Euclid homeowners and businesses since 2010. We built our name on two plain things: showing up when we say we will, and doing the job right the first time. Most of our calls are ants, cockroaches, spiders and rodents, plus the seasonal ones, like wasps in late summer and stink bugs on sunny walls in the fall, and termite inspections for people buying or selling a home.

Because we are based in Euclid, we know the local patterns: which houses near the lake get carpenter ants in damp wood, and when the mice start moving indoors once the nights turn cold. You will not get a sales pitch. Our technicians explain what they find and what they are doing, the pricing is straightforward, and if a problem does not clear up the first time, the follow-up visit is included.

  • Same-week appointments are standard.
  • Emergency calls for rodents or stinging insects usually get a response within 24 hours.
  • A one-time treatment or an ongoing pest control plan, whichever actually fits.
  • Follow-up visits included when a problem does not clear up the first time.

Why Lake Erie Humidity Brings Pests to Euclid Homes

Euclid sits right on the lake, and the air coming off Lake Erie keeps our summers humid. About half of the houses in the city were built in the 1950s and 1960s, many with basements that stay damp from late spring into the fall. Damp is exactly what a lot of pests are looking for:

  • Carpenter ants and termites go for wood that stays wet: sill plates, window frames, porch posts and the trim under a gutter that overflows.
  • Silverfish, centipedes and millipedes live where a basement or crawlspace is humid, and spiders move in to feed on them.
  • Midges come off the lake in big swarms once the water warms, most often in June and September. They do not bite, but they gather at lights, and spiders build their webs where the food is.

What takes the draw away

  • A dehumidifier in the basement through the humid months.
  • Gutters cleaned and downspouts carrying water away from the foundation.
  • Mulch and soil pulled back a few inches from the siding.
  • Leaks under sinks and around windows fixed, and rotten wood replaced.
  • Warm or yellow bulbs in porch lights, which draw fewer insects.

We point these things out on every inspection, because fixing the moisture costs less than treating the same problem twice. The seasonal pest guide goes through the year month by month.

What We Find on Inspections

Pests are easy to miss until you know where to look. A few of the things our inspections turn up, from the foundation to the eaves.

How a Visit Works

  1. Inspect

We find the pest, where it is coming from and why it is there: the way in, the moisture, the food.

  2. Explain

You hear what we found and your options in plain words, with a straightforward price. No upselling.

  3. Treat

Targeted treatment where the pests live and travel, plus the sealing and fixes that keep them out.

  4. Follow up

If the problem does not clear up the first time, the follow-up visit is included.

Common Questions

How soon can you come out?

Same-week appointments are standard. Emergency calls for rodents or stinging insects, such as mice in the kitchen or a wasp nest by the door, usually get a response within 24 hours. Call (216) 405-2839 during our working hours and we will give you a time and keep to it.

Do I have to sign up for an ongoing plan?

No. Plenty of problems are solved with a one-time treatment. An ongoing pest control plan makes sense for some houses, such as an older home with a lot of ways in or a yard that gets the same pests every season, and for most businesses. We will tell you honestly which one you need.

What happens if the pests come back after the treatment?

Call us. Follow-up visits are included when a pest problem does not clear up the first time. Some pests, such as cockroaches and ants that are being baited, take a little time to disappear, and the technician will tell you what to expect before leaving.
